My Jessica
Hear the thunder, Spring is here.
Wake to gentle motion.
Her breath is calm like seas of green
Her love is like an ocean.
I run my hand along her thigh,
her eyes pop open wide.
She smiles and my day is bright,
My love will soon be my bride.
She kisses my cheek and then my lips,
she says the day is calling.
She mentions breakfast, then smiles again,
and into her arms I'm falling.
She kisses me hard, then rubs my cheek,
she giggles I need to shave.
She goes off to breakfast and turns with a grin,
my love has made me her slave.
I hear the sizzle of eggs in the pan,
I smell the sausage and cheese.

A Boy's Fish Tale
It was early one Saturday morning in the late Autumn of the year 1989. I was eight years old and my dad decided we would go to the lake and catch some catfish for lunch/dinner. I don't know a lot about other dads but my dad is unique. He has an uncanny ability to sense catfish in the water and could tell when one was going to strike. He had bought his favorite bait (chicken livers) the night before and had let them dry overnight. So Dad woke me up and whispered that we needed to get some fish for the freezer. By the time we got to the lake, Dad was almost foaming at the mouth to get a pole in the water. He had just c
Mother's Day: Remembering the Blessings
by Gavin Dwayne
Mommy said her and Daddy were blessed,
that God gave them wonderful things.
He gave them two wonderful children,
that are worth more than gold rings.
Mommy said she remembers the doctor,
an old man whose face lit up with joy,
held me up so that all could bear witness
to Mommy's new little boy.
She said I was such a sweet baby,
always laughing and having great fun.
Now I realize the happiness inside me,
was the joy from being her son.
She was there when I took my first steps,
arms outstretched and a smile so grand.
She cheered when I reached where she stood,
and took her
Another night in the burg. Too warm for the locals. I went down to Macs, grabbed a cup of Joe and made my way back to the office. Wanda made the night special by keeping the papers straight. Good ol Wanda. The office was always in good hands. I was going out of my head. It had been ages since my last case. I sat down, emptied my cup and looked through the bills. Nothing huge. A knock came to the door. Come in. It was a young woman, maybe early 20s, definitely emotional. Her face spoke of an Oriental heritage, with chestnut eyes and black hair that flowed past her shoulders. Mr. Milosovich, I need y
NIGHTMARES
Danny sat in the dark, listening to the sounds of night. Dad and Mom had always said that the boogeyman was a myth. Almost always it was after a night of terror that Dad would come in and hug Danny and say that the boogeyman was nothing more than a closet full of clothes. Tonight was different. The air pulsed and hissed and something began to push the door to the closet open. A massive black shadow snaked out, looking like nothing more than a great black hand. The fear welled up in Dannys throat. The scream he had intended to let loose died as the terror refused to let him do more than breathe. Another massive shado

Nana Banana's First Adventure
Nana Banana and the Wiley Woolly Buggers
Once upon a time in the land of Puff, there lived a kindly old lady named Nana Banana. She wore a yellow apron and a white bonnet on her head. She was always helping people. And everyone was happy when Nana Banana visited. If someone was sick, she brought soup and a smile. If someone was visiting, Nana Banana brought greetings and good tidings. So, you see, the land of Puff was a very happy land indeed.
One day, Momoopie of the Clodhopper tribe found a giant blue egg. Now where could this egg have come from? Maybe we can make it into a giant omelet? Little did she know, the e

It was a dark and story night. Yes, you heard me write. If I was to say anything, it's that my parents said I 've always had a very active imagination. As a young boy, I use to regal my classmates with tales of faraway places. Most were real places with made up details. Nowadays, I while away what little free time I have, entertaining my family with fancy tales. I've shared some on here in the hopes that future storytellers might gain inspiration.
